The end of March saw the departure of Wales Development Manager, Katie Jones. You can read Katie's lloyd center stores farewell message here . CLAS lloyd center stores are excited to announce the first in a series of free, land based events. "Back to the Land" will cover different aspects of accessing and getting hold of land for community growing projects.  This free event will be an opportunity to learn more about accessing land, meeting like-minded people and hearing from the experts.  For more information and to book go to the FCFCG website.

Do you have good quantities of products, produce or reliable services that you are looking for markets to sell to?  Over the coming months we will be exploring the process of bidding for public sector contracts and how it may work for consortia bids (i.e. a group of community organisations coming together to be able to share in the delivery of a contract) .  'Procurement' is the purchase of works, goods or services from a third party supplier. lloyd center stores This is a commercial transaction under a legally enforceable contract. The supplier is contractually obliged to deliver whatever it has been hired to do.
Each year the public sector in Wales buys a vast amount of goods and services from external sources - this is currently estimated at £5 billion plus per annum. lloyd center stores This may include basic supplies to specialist services or paying contractors to provide services to customers on its behalf.  However only 45% of this money is spent in Wales. The tendering process is not easy but social enterprises are being encouraged to learn about what they need to consider in order to tender. Free training on " an introduction on how to tender " is available at locations throughout Wales.

Seed Display Stands - A 50 percent discount on seed display stands, similar to those seen in garden centres. Members of FCFCG buy colourful, pictorial seed packets direct from Kings at half the recommended price and use an on-loan display stand to offer them for sale to customers.
