Pollinator Plan Makes Beeline for Community Growing Last week, FCFCG welcomed the launch fleetfarm of a Welsh Government action plan to boost Wales' ailing bee population by encouraging more green spaces, fleetfarm including community growing projects and allotments. We encourage everyone to respond to the Welsh Government's consultation on the action plan which you can read here .

Growing in a Changing Climate, 23 May, Coed Hills and Amelia Trust Farm Last year growers experienced one of the worst years on record due to the extreme weather conditions, ranging from drought in early spring to prolonged excessive rainfall. If this pattern is repeated, how can we be better prepared to ensure a successful harvest? Come along to this training day to explore this in more detail, discuss and share ideas. You will get the opportunity to see how community gardeners have introduced different growing systems that could help us to adapt to a changing climate and learn how to build your own Hugel-Culture fleetfarm bed. Go to the FCFCG website fleetfarm for more information and to book.
Community Council Training FCFCG is working with One Voice Wales to provide training to Community and Town Councillors on the various models of community growing, the benefits they can bring to their community and how they can support their local community to develop a community growing space, be it a community garden, allotment, or community orchard. Go to our website for details of dates and venues. If you are an interested Community or Town Councillor please go to our website for further information.
Housing Association Training Do you work in a front line position for an affordable housing provider? Are you working to develop community growing? We are running one course in North Wales on 21 May and another in South Wales on 22 May. For more details go to the FCFCG website or contact Jenny Horton at Community Housing Cymru.
